CommentsSo far, i' ma fan of all things Butcher. Loved the entire dresden series, and i'd love to see more like "backup" (got it for christmas from my lady). Just picked up turn-coat and so far...i'm intrigued. Can't wait to find one of Shannon's books and check it out. Cheers to both Jim and Shannon---looking forward to knowing what happens next! (and hoping it never ends) /end fanboyness Posted by: Jish at May 8, 2009 01:55 PMI wish I hadn't picked this series up until next year at this time so I could read all 6 -- one after the other -- in sequence. I read the first four in paperback (my bookstore had ALL of them in stock, fortunately), and "Princep's" in hardback. I lent the first four to my friend, but he's going to have to wait for the fifth after the sixth comes out so I can "refresh" the story in my head for the climax. Great reading. Magic, romance, war, intrigue and humor all rolled into one fantastic tale. Thanks, Jim. Posted by: Carl Shaw at February 18, 2009 09:31 AMI have read all of the Dresden files, all of the Alera books, Back-up and Welcome to the Jungle BUT I NEED MORE! I even own the Sci-Fi series. It is not enough. I wish he could write them as fast as I read them. Posted by: marc at January 24, 2009 01:26 PMI am nineteen years old, and in all honesty, I use to really hate reading books. I could never finish a book, even if it was less than 200 pages. I got through high school real well, even though I barely read, but I knew that I would have to start reading more often when I went to college. My friend recommended this series to me, and I decided to give it a try because I was somewhat determined to like reading. Amazingly, I have never had trouble wanting to put these books down ever since and I can truly say that I enjoy reading. Well, at least these books. Jim Butcher, thanks for making some AWESOME books.
Have all the Dresden and Alera books. Enjoy your characters and action. Don't you think Bernard of Calderon is a bit too saintly? Thank you and stay fresh. Posted by: Dave at January 19, 2009 04:06 PMThis book was just about the most compelling piece of fiction I've ever read. I am a huge fan of both Dresden and Alera, and Princeps' draws you in from the first paragraph to the last sentence, which by the way was so great that my wife read through the whole book in a day just to get to it! You rock Jim. Keep em coming! Posted by: Nathan at December 31, 2008 07:11 PMJust finished the book about 5 min ago.Wow. it was great, but i think i hurt my brain reading too much. I had my grandma get it for me the day it came out and she gave it to me on Christmas day. I cannot believe that we have to wait til next december to read the last book. Wah. Its funny, my hubby got the first three books for Christmas last year, but he likes the d&d books. So I started reading them and now Im hooked. I wish they could make this series go forever. I love it. Way to go Jim. Will you be coming out with someting else like this?? It rocks. Posted by: Noni at December 29, 2008 09:56 PMI got in trouble over the holidays because I started this book (a gift from my dog) and did not put it down in favor of the family holiday outing of the day. It was actually kind of fun to tell my 38 year old sister, "you can't make me!" Great book, great series, can't wait for the last one... Posted by: Tami at December 28, 2008 11:01 PMI'm getting the book for Christmas, I know because I went out and bought it so my Mother-in-law didn't have to shop for me this year. i read the last two books in few days by sacrificing sleep, they were that good! i just want to find out when the next one is coming out. six months or a year? or earlier? :) Posted by: ali at December 16, 2008 07:05 PMWhat can I say....AWESOME!! When does the next one come out?? Posted by: Renee at December 15, 2008 03:32 PMI wanted to order an autographed book but I just couldn't wait! We were driving "over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house" for Thanksgiving and I just HAD to have the book on my laptop to read while crossing the prairie! It was fantastic! I'm just so impressed. Posted by: Jeanney Horn at December 9, 2008 05:12 PMPost a comment |
