Jim participates in Worldbuilders 2010

Patrick Rothfuss, author of the much-lauded The Name of the Wind, is reprising his massive Worldbuilders fundraiser, benefiting Heifer International. Heifer is a global charity that helps people raise themselves up out of poverty and starvation. All over the world, Heifer promotes education, sustainable agriculture, and local industry. And Worldbuilders will match 50% of donations, meaning that a ten-dollar donation becomes fifteen dollars for Heifer!
Pat has accumulated a truly staggering number of contributions from writers, publishers, and other creatives that are being raffled or auctioned off to fans. For every 10 bucks you donate, your name will get entered into the drawing once, so $30 means three chances to win. Among over a thousand ridiculously cool autographed books, special edition works from Subterranean Press, and ARCs from your favorite writers, you could win any of the following Jim-related goodness:

  • Jim Butcher donated autographed copies of Grave Peril and Changes.
  • Subterranean press donated five signed and numbered limited leather-bound editions of Jim Butcher’s Backup, a novelette from Thomas’ point of view, illustrated by Mike Mignola. These go for hundreds of dollars on the collector’s market!
  • Alera map illustrator Priscilla Spencer donated an 18″x24″ Codex Alera Map poster signed by Jim and herself.

Pat is adding more items to the prize list every day, so keep an eye on his blog. If you have any questions, be sure to check out the FAQ first, then ask them in Pat’s blog comments rather than here.
The fundraiser ends December 13th, so be sure to check it out soon! Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause, and perhaps win some cool stuff in the process.
