Hey, folks! Priscilla here. When I’m not helping maintain Jim’s site, I run a fundraising program called Books for Boobs, which raises money for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer while supporting awesome authors!

I auction off books signed by some of your favorite writers, with the proceeds going to help fight cancer. Genres range from fantasy to romance to graphic novels to mystery/horror, so there’s a good chance you’ll see an author you like or discover someone new you’ll love!

After a three-year lapse, Jim has finally blogged again! Just in time for NaNoWriMo, he posted his thoughts about perseverance in “The Most Important Thing an Aspiring Author Needs to Know.” Read his post at GoodReads or LiveJournal. You can also read his previous entries on author craft at either place.

We’re also pleased to note that Ghost Story has been nominated for Best Paranormal Fantasy at the The 2011 Goodreads Choice Awards. Jim shares the field with over a dozen rock stars of the urban fantasy genre, including Seanan McGuire and Charlaine Harris. There are a slew of categories to vote in, celebrating authors like Patrick Rothfuss, John Scalzi, Jo Walton, George R.R. Marin, Mira Grant, Tina Fey, Kate Beaton, and Terry Pratchett, so get out there and vote for your favorite books of 2011! Round 1 ends November 13, 2011.
