  1. Oh, I am so totally there. If I can get off school and stuff (stressing out…it’s my senior year in highschool). Chicago…rockin’! Hey, guess what I’m doing…Writing a report on Jim Butcher!

  2. I would SO love to be there – whether or not I can actually attend depends on whether or not I get the promotion I just applied for…. so wish me luck! I met Jim at Whedonverse in July and not only was he great at talking to an audience at large, but to people one on one. He’s definitely become one of my favorite authors and I recommend him to all my “reader” friends.

  3. I would love to come to this. As a struggling sci-fi/paranormal writer it would be interesting to meet up with some others.

  4. Unless I can magically pull out money and find really cheap hotels that don’t mind minors (since I live north of the US and I’m not old enough for my opinion to matter ) I’m not going to be there, to my utter disappointment.

  5. will I go? ummm…….. YEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I’m SO there! Will you be sending email reminders? With it being a year away, I know my horrible memory will forget the date. Hi! to Jim, and Hi! to Shannon! (We don’t know each other, I’m just saying hi!) :o)

  6. A writing workshop? Then I definitely want to attend. Put me down on the list!

  7. I’m already banking vaction days and making plans w/a friend from Texas to attend the Chicago conference. Count the 2 of us in!!!

  8. I would love to come and take the writers workshop as well as meet Jim who is definitely one of my favorite authors.

  9. I can’t wait to meet Jim. I was turned onto the Dresden Files by a friend and I haven’t put it down since. I will be there for sure.

  10. Don’t get me wrong, I’d LOVE to meet Jim, but could we just get him to do more conventions (east and west coast) ?
I’m sure any convention he would attend would welcome him doing a writers workshop too.

  11. I’m so in. It’ll be my birthday present to myself, “real” job or not. I’ll offer my students extra credit to come with me. So I’m a shameless book pimp. What’s wrong with that?

  12. Ohh! I am so tempted to go and Chicago is an easy 6hrs away. sign me up! A few months after Proven Guilty comes out I’ll be climbing the walls for the next scrap of Harry I can get my hands on!

  13. Ohmighosh!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my hometown. I lived there for 37 years and nothing cool like this happened. Now I’m in Florida. Guess I’ll have to go home for a visit that weekend.

  14. I guarantee myself and at least one of my friends will attend if this goes on.

  15. He is an awsome writer, I love his books! I am not a fan of books with demons and stuff like that usually but his books grab my attention as soon as I read the first line.
