  3. I’m glad that there is going to be a Dresden TV series but I’m not happy it’s going to be on Sci-fi. They’ll probably treat it like they did Stargate SG1 and cancel it when it reaches maturity or a certain number or episodes. Bottom line – don’t get used to it, no matter how great it is. I hope that Jim Butcher does not give them exclusivity so he can market it to another network when they cancel it. Biggest issue with SG is that they tied Paramount’s hands so they can’t offer it to another network to continue no matter how many fans love it. Protecting their cash flow from syndication royalties.

  4. As a new Dresden addict the news about the TV series made my entire week!! However, given that I live in a small town in Australia that doesn’t get the SciFi channel and I have to order to books from the States, I wonder if I’ll even get to see it (sigh). Am considering moving. Maybe countries.

  5. uhm… me need dresden… me want dresden… but yes, it is addicted, which is why i almost feel bad when i hand my friends the books… like heroin, but with a lil less guilt :-P… and its people like us that are making mr. butcher smirk in his picture :-p

  8. …..ok, so i love these books soooo much that after im done reading and i have a lot of downtime…i come to this website and sponge up every bit of information i can…and after that i just sit and look at the screen…and think of how great the next book will be…i want to fall apart…jim, you rock…so hard.
    i think i have replaced my old addictions with these books and this site…and ranting…im a ranting rambler…look at me go…ok…WHITE KNIGHT WILL RULE ALL OVER THE GALAXY!!

  9. it’s good to know i’m not the only one who rereads and rereads the series over and over again. i think i’m slightly obsessed, but it seems like i’m not the only one so i guess that’s okay. here’s hoping sci-fi doesn’t screw up the story (but i guess if jim’s happy i should be happy too), and hoping i can last til april without having a psychotic episode. 😉

  10. Ummm, so I just learned about the tentative title for the next omnibook with Dead Beat in it. The title is “Wizard at Large”. Can they do that? That’s the name of one of the books in the Landover Series by Terry Books.

    Not being a psychotic obsessive compulsive fanboy, I would like to state that I believe the people in this forum will benefit greatly from a chapter (or 5) being released as a bit of a preview, to whet the appetite.
    Please Jim. We need our Dresden fix … … …what? I didn’t say I wasn’t an obsessive compulsive fan boy… I said I’m not a PSYCHOTIC OCD fanboy.

  13. i think that a few chapters would be enough to slake my thirst for dresden. it would be good. better than good, it would be grand on a cosmic scale…this is kind of how i imagine heroin addicts without their fix…we need just a little…a taste would hold us over, i promise.
