FLF a bestseller, plus the skinny on Changes!

First Lord’s Fury is #7 on the New York Times hardcover fiction bestseller list! Congratulations, Jim!

Jim is currently working on Changes, book 12 in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files series, which promises to be a game changer:

Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden’s lover-until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Susan then disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it.
Now Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court, has discovered a secret Susan has long kept, and she plans to use it-against Harry. To prevail this time, he may have no choice but to embrace the raging fury of his own untapped dark power. Because Harry’s not fighting to save the world…
He’s fighting to save his child.

Changes is due out April 6th, 2010. You can preorder it in hardback and audio formats (read by James Marsters) at the Jim-Butcher.com store.

  1. There are a few snags with starting the preview this early. We’ll likely be doing it closer to (or in) early March.

  2. Aaaarrgghhh! I need my fix!
Seriously, I have never anticipated a book like this. I hope Jim can sleep at night selling literary crack.

  3. lets not forget about ivy and kinacid they both owe dresden massive favors and im fairly sure ebeneezer wont let harry leave him out of the fight

  4. I was wondering about getting a signed copy of Changes as well. is there going to be any chance for us that cant make it to your tour areas to get our shiny new book signed by the master himself?

  6. daniel carpenter will take up the sword. it’s obvious. he’s just gettin to be the right age. he’s got the bloodline and great teachers for sword play.

  7. And they (7wks) can’t come fast enough for me…
I can’t wait to get my hands on this book!!

  8. We know it’s a girl, we should have a friendly wager. 7 pounds 3 ounces 22 inches long. hah just kidding, but we can speculate on her name. If anyone guesses right give us a signed copy Jim 🙂 I’ll go with Eliza. c’mon winna winna winna!

  9. Got an advance copy of the book and I’m about halfway through. Let’s just say the title is very appropriate. This is defiantly Harry’s wildest ride yet.
Jim, all I can say so far is WOW! This is gonna be a big one!
    Everyone else,
You have no idea what you are in for.

  10. after reading your post Kheas….only makes me freaking out even more waiting to get my hands on this book!!

  11. Just finished the book this morning. Yeah, WOW!
Jim, I promise I won’t say anything about the story, even if the Sidhe make me an offer for it! This book is too good to spoil for any one. I just have to say this could be your best yet. Thanks for such a terrific tale. I can’t wait to see where Dresden goes from here.

  12. Who did you have to kneecap to get an advanced copy and do they need another hitman or hit woman?

  13. Sorry, Advance Reader Copies are pretty limited. I just lucked out on this one! I probably owe my soul to the The Order of the Blackened Denarius now but such things are worth it!
I can tell you that it’s worth the wait and you’ll love every second of this book. Not a moment of downtime in this installment!

  14. I would be willing to take up a coin for an advanced copy. April isn’t coming fast enough!

  15. I first thought her name would be Christina, but maybe Margaret or Gwendelyn after Harry’s mother. That is if Susan knew his mother’s name.
