  1. Jim Butcher, you wonderful, awful person! I hope your fingers become glued to the keyboard until you finish the next book, after you left us with that cliffhanger!
(This is fan code for:Keep it up, I loved every minute.)

  2. Well, well. #1. Congratulations Jim.
I, like everyone here, got hooked on the first read of Dresden (I started with book 1, but it would not have mattered). While waiting for Changes I started reading another Sci Fi book and actually had to throw it out. After reading Jim Butcher one does not easily go back to lower quality work. I absolutely loved this story. I loved the ending. And, I’d be content even if the whole series ended there (I know, I know, fans will yell at me). But an artist should choose how they define themselves and you are so damned good I figure we should give you that license. Still, it “was” a cliffhanger, right?
I will soon explore your other works while waiting for any future effort you can bring. If that is another Dresden saga, I will spend my last dime buying it if it were to come to that.
Congratulations again on a fantastic and well-deserved ranking.

  3. Read this in the Kindle app on the iPad. Loved it! Love all your books. Please write more!

  4. Dude! I read Changes althrough my classes and when I got to the cliffhanger I nearly screamed. Great book, and keep up the good work Jim! Write the next book fast. I’ll be waiting!

  5. Congrats Jim you evil, evil man. I’ve been following Dresden from the begining and I can honestly say that you are my favorite author of all time. I knew that she would get him to do it eventually *wink wink*. I’ll be waiting even more restlessly for the next one than I did for this one. Keep up the spectacular work

  6. My apologies, I have had problems with my computer and sometimes it doesn’t register when things go through. I did not mean to post 3 times. Many apologies again. Maybe a wizard got too close to my computer. ( It is 10 years old.)

  7. I have read and re-read the entire Dresden Files series multiple times and waited with baited breath for the last 4 books. This book completely blew me away. I demolished it in about 5 hours and was literally yelling at the characters, cackling with glee and wide eyed in awe throughout the entire thing. Spectacular! Now please please get on the next book while I settle in for a reread. Cheers, Jim!

  8. I am a new fan and picked up my first Dresden Book about 3 months ago. I couldn’t stop and was at the last book before changes was released. I was thrilled to see Changes released and now find myself ready to burst waiting to know how Harry gets out of his current situation!!! Excellent series. I just started Codex Alera series. I am already sucked in!!!!

  9. I LOVE this series! What a great flawed hero! I keep introducing Harry to everyone who loves books. Congratulations on your success, Jim. As for a second effort at putting Harry on the screen, I can’t imagine who the film producers would find who could capture Harry’s strength, sexiness, vulnerability, and heart as you have so deftly portrayed it in your text. If the movie happens, they better make you the major Consultant for bringing Harry to life.

  10. Have read the Dresden series many times, loved “Changes”, especially the cliffhanger ending! Couldn’t believe I’d reached the end (in only 1 day) and then to be left hanging like that! Sheer genius! I will be breathlessly awaiting the next Dresden adventure! May Harry Dresden never die!

  11. Jim –
I’m proud of you and what you’ve accomplished. Not only as an author, but as a Father and Husband. You’ve done a Man’s job.
    Los

  12. Congrats on making it to Number 1!!! I guess this restores a LITTLE of my hope for humanity if NYT can recognize Butcher’s greatness!
But then, how can you NOT be glued to a book that twists the plot of an entire series in the first sentence!? Absolute best start, and most frustrating end! I screamed so loudly at the last pages that my husband came running to see who was stabbing me. Bring on the next one!
    Are we there yet???

  13. Congratulations!!
Just finished Changes. What a book! I love all Dresden books but this book is the best.
From start to end, it was thrilling, breathtaking, heart-aching and funny.
When can we read next book??? I feel like when I saw Han Solo was carbon freezed, worried and frustrated.

  14. Just powered through CHANGES, and am pretty well emotionally exhausted. Wowzers.
