  1. Bob the skull: “Harry, why don’t you try something safer like administering suppositories to rabid gorillas.”

  2. Can’t believe no one else is in a Zen mood.
“Life is a journey. Time is a river. The door is a jar.”

  3. Great Books -Great memorable lines
I only wish my 16 year old would return them so I could read them again- Oh well, at least she is doing something constructive with her time and not destructive. Keep up the good works
    A Canadian fan

  4. From Dead Beat:
“Anybody who lets me ride their dinosaur can call me Carlos.”

  5. can’t believe this got left out…
Bob the skull: Harry what you know about women, i could juggle.

  6. Best quote, in my opinion.
“Took cover,” I provided. “In the action business, when you don’t want to say you ran like a mouse, you call it ‘taking cover.’ It’s alot more heroic.”
“Right,” Butters said, flushing. “I took cover.”
“It’s fun, taking cover,” I said. “I take cover all the time.” – Dead Beat

  7. Wow! thats basically sums up my feelings on dead beat. it was the first book of yours ive read jim and im hooked. cant wait to start from the beginning…I’m giving a speech about you next monday. i hope i do you justice..

  8. “Tequila? are you sure on that one? i thought the base for a love potion was supposed to be champagne.”
    “champagne, tequila, whats the difference?”
“uh, i’m thinking it’s going to get us a, um, sleazier result”
    -storm front

  9. “Kincaid! Bolshevik muppet!”
Blood Rites was the bomb…and I’ll bet this phrase gets thrown around our house at least half dozen times a week…that’s what you get for sticking half a dozen Butcher fans under one roof for long periods….

  10. Like everyone else I love Harry. I feel very fortunate that I stumbled upon such a geat series. I eagerly anticipate the movie this summer and the Dead Beat cover art is fantastic. I was nice to see in print what my imaination had already pictured. Harry’s hot!

  11. “I’m not gay.”
Choking sounds heard from the kitchen.
Butters giving him a sympathic look.
    “I’m not.”
    “sure sure I understand.”
Come on just imagining that made me laugh.

  12. I was going to do an essay on Jim but it had to be a collection of literary criticism. Please encourage more critics to read these i couldn’t find much of any proffessional criticism on any of these books, I am very disapointed.

  13. i vote “kincade, bolshevic muppet”
btw the bolshevic muppet is called “mad harry”
    coincedence?

  14. The funniest moment: In summer knight, when the battle is going on, and the Summer Lady had stollen the Unravelling. Harry snatches the thing out of her hands and yells, “Meep, meep!” and the runs like hell

  15. “Christ, Dresden! You almost got me killed!”
    “Don’t be a baby. You’re fine.”
Thomas frowned at me. “You at least could have told me!”
“I did tell you,” I said. “I told you at Mac’s that I’d give you a ride home, but that I had to run an errand first.”
Thomas scowled. “An errand is getting a tank of gas or picking up a carton of milk or something. It is not getting chased by flying purple pyromaniac gorillas hurling incendiary poo.”
    —-
The drumsticks poked up above the vampire’s crushed chest, their ends wrapped in red tinfoil.
The vampire gasped and writhed a little more.
The timer popped out of the turkey.
Everyone stopped to blink at that for a second. I mean, come on. Impaled by a guided frozen turkey missile. Even by the standards of the quasi-immortal creatures of the night, that ain’t something you see twice.

and a whole lot more, love the books, keep them coming. (write faster dammit 🙂

  16. I just have to say that i am loving the dresden files. I have only just found them. I hadn’t heard anything about them at all and just picked it up randomly in the book store. I started 2 months ago and am now just starting small favour. FANTASTIC. I just can’t put them down. They are hilarious. By the way my mate has read them too and is obsessed with the fact that murphy and harry have to get together. Is anuone else obsessed with that

  17. My favorite of all times, “Here’s something else I bet you didn’t know about tyrannosaurs: they don’t corner well.”
That gets said all the time in my house. It’s funny how many uses one can find for the line.

  18. “That was black magic, and it was easy to use. Easy and fun. Like Legos”
I can’t for the life of me remember which book this is from…
